Since the 1920s there has been a Ford store in the 800 block
of North Main Street and for the last 26 years that dealership has been Roswell Ford.
Owners Rudy and Viola Cordero moved to Roswell
from Las Cruces
in 1985. Rudy became one of Roswell's great civic
leaders -- including president of the Roswell Chamber of Commerce -- and
Roswell Ford was soon one of the leading Ford dealerships in the southwest with
some of the highest customer service ratings ever seen. Rudy's sudden death in 2002 was a shock to
the entire community.
His son, Christopher, follows in his father's footsteps and
Roswell Ford continues on as the Cordero family business and Roswell's longest running automobile
dealership.
